Vinyl Fantasy 7 - "Riding Low on a Mutha Fuggin' Chocobo"

Team Teamwork, the folks behind last year's "The Ocarina of Rhyme", have just dropped another sublime working of hip-hop and video game scores on the masses. As the title cleverly implies this round the focus is on the much loved (and über hyped) Final Fantasy 7, and features pairings of classic game tunes mixed with the likes of Kool Keith, Tom Waits, MF DOOM, Clipse, and Ghostface Killah.

While projects of this sort are definitely not made for mass appeal, whether or not you find yourself in the target niche it's worth checking out if you're one who enjoys beats or have ever felt the impulse to strike a sword twirling victory pose.

I am certainly of the sort that is currently self consciously grooving and bopping while my lady walks by and shakes her head with a smile in a way that only someone who loves me could. Because...  yeah.

Vinyl Fantasy 7 is available for on-line streaming as well as donation based download. Check it, yo!

SQUEENIX + Pop Cap team up for Bejeweled style Puzzle RPG? Crap.

This might become an issue. I come out of blogging hiatus and have my second bejeweled related story. And for good reason...

I do believe I'm suffering from bejeweled addiction. I shit you not, I close my eyes and I see gem patterns and the means of creating combos and cascades.

But I digress...

gamingbits.com has a brief info write up and trailer for the soon to be released Square-Enix title "Gyromancer".  Worth checking out if you're a casual fan, or plagued with the sickness like myself. I was a fan of Puzzle Quest when it came out, but haven't touched a Puzzle-RPG in quite some time. This stands to change very soon if I can find the means of giving up the Bejeweled: Blitz for a while.

Look for Gyromancer on Xbox LIVE Arcade and PC Wednesday, 11.18.2009.

Bejeweled Blitz for iPhone/iPod Touch. (aka "The end of me.")

An add-on to Bejeweled 2 that'll make the previously Facebook exclusive Blitz mode portable? At least I'll no longer feel too guilty about the time sink experienced sitting at my desk flicking gems around, and gunning for the high score. Now I can take it with me... everywhere.

The Secret World: Teaser Trailer #2

Ruh-Roh... it's been months since I'd left the World of Warcraft behind me, with nary a pang of regret or strong urge to jump back in. I still enjoy keeping up on the news of development within the game and partaking in conversations with friends who still play regularly. But all in all I've been feeling happily separated from the MMO world, and fully committed to "lvling up my IRL toon."

And then I delve more into the news and development of "The Secret World", and I'm feeling very, very afraid... The supernatural, magic, swords, guns, nightmarish mobs, secret societies, factions out to maintain the balance between light and dark, others out to destroy and conquer... This is a game with a story concept that appeals to me greatly, and could prove to be a dangerous time sink... "but don't take my word for it!"

There's allegedly to be lost more info coming out of PAX this weekend so if interested definitely stay tuned to the requisite blahgs.
